If you're okay with sticking things in your ears and want better audio quality, I'd recommend passive noise-canceling headphones (also known as noise-isolating), like the Shure E2c, E3c, and E4c; Etymotic ER4P and ER6i; and the Ultimate Ears super.fi 5Pro and super.fi 3 Studio.
Overall, the Bose QuietComfort 3 doesn't impress me as much as the previous model, despite its smaller form factor. I'd like to see a folding headband, which would allow for a smaller case. I'd also really like to be able to use the headset with or without the noise cancellation (or when the battery runs out). Most of all, I'd like the price to come down a bit.
