Oh So Quiet?

Bose claims the QC3's sound quality is identical to that of the Bose QC2, but I disagree. I found the sound a bit bloated on the bottom end, with slightly less definition and punch. This isn't to say the headphones don't sound very good—on the contrary, they are better than most noise-canceling models out there. But for $349, I want to be blown away by the sound, and these don't quite do it. I prefer the more refined, controlled sound of the QC2 Bose, although both headsets have the signature Bose colorations in the midrange, which most consumers seem to like but audiophiles hate. If I had to sum up the sound in a single word, it would be saturated.
